New GoGuardian Features

CCSD would like to inform parents and guardians that new features are rolling out on GoGuardian, the content filtering and classroom management application.

 

Students will be provided an improved reminder when GoGuardian is running. It is changing from a small green light to a larger blue school house icon on their screens to show them that they are logged in and GoGuardian is active. 

 

Additionally, when a student joins a Google Meet session, the camera will default to the “off” setting. Students will have to turn on the camera manually to appear on the screen in a Google Meet.

 

These changes will take effect when students log in to a Chrome browser on a personal device or a District-issued Chromebook with their CCSD Google account. This will not affect other devices (iPads, etc.) or other browsers (Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc.).

Nuevas funciones de GoGuardian

Al CCSD le gustaría informar a los padres y tutores que se están implementando nuevas funciones en GoGuardian, la aplicación de filtrado de contenido y administración del aula.

 

Los estudiantes recibirán un mejor recordatorio cuando GoGuardian esté funcionando. Este cambiará de una pequeña luz verde a un ícono azul en forma de un edificio escolar que es más fácil de ver para mostrarles que están conectados y GoGuardian está activo.

 

Además, cuando un estudiante se une a una sesión de Google Meet, la cámara se establecerá de forma predeterminada en la configuración "desactivada". Los estudiantes tendrán que encender la cámara manualmente para aparecer en la pantalla en una reunión de Google.

 

Estos cambios entrarán en vigencia cuando los estudiantes inicien sesión en un navegador Chrome en un dispositivo personal o en un Chromebook emitido por el Distrito con su cuenta de Google CCSD. Esto no afectará a otros dispositivos (iPads, etc.) ni a otros navegadores (Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc.).
